I am a curatorial project manager with nine years worth of experience in producing photography exhibitions in a museum and gallery context. Additionally, I am an independent writer on photography and visual culture. My essays have appeared in Camera Austria Magazine, Foam Magazine, Photoworks, Unseen Magazine, EXTRA Magazine, and Of the Afternoon Magazine, and have been published on American Suburb X, Emaho and Potaatoo. A chapter on the Dutch photography scene has been published in the compendium The History of European Photography 1970-2000 Vol. III.
I was awarded the Milton Rogovin Research Fellowship in 2015 from the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, Arizona and the Transfer North curatorial residency at the Northern Photographic Centre in Oulu, Finland in 2017. I obtained an MA in Cultural Anthropology from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam in 2005 and a subsequent MA in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester in 2006.

I was a juror on the Royal Photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition 160 in 2017, a juror on RedEye’s Lightbox Program in 2015 and 2017, an online portfolio reviewer for the Kaunas Photo Festival from 2012-2015, a portfolio reviewer at the Biel/Bienne Festival of Photography in 2014, an external examiner at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam from 2014-2016, and a jury member for the LensCulture Exposure Awards in 2015. I was a moderator on the panel The Space and The Book: The Publisher as Curator at the 2016 edition of Unseen. I was invited as guest speaker at the National Photography Symposium in Liverpool in 2011 to talk about the Dutch photography scene. I also presented at the Bronx Documentary Center in 2014 and at the Summer at New Holland Festival in St. Petersburg in 2013.
My short films have been shown at the Imperial War Museum North (Manchester 2006), Life in Motion Festival (Manchester, 2006), Docs for Sale/Idfa (Amsterdam, 2006), 12a Mostra Internacional do Filme Etnografico (Rio de Janeiro 2007), Dialektus Festival (Budapest, 2008) and the Astra Film Cinemateque Program (Sibiu, 2010). My photographs have amongst others been published in Foam Album 09 – Foam Album 11, PhotoQ Yearbook, Red Magazine, Foam Magazine, NRC Next, Nederlands Dagblad and Nieuw West Express.
